Frequently Asked Questions
•How do I access the drain pump on my GE Profile washer?
The drain pump is usually located behind a lower access panel at the front of the washer. You'll typically need a 1/4-inch nut driver to remove the screws securing the panel. After removing the panel, the drain pump should be visible.
•What is the resistance range I should expect when testing the drain pump motor?
You should typically see a resistance between 5-15 Ohms when testing the drain pump motor with a multimeter. An open circuit (infinite resistance) or a short circuit (0 Ohms) indicates a faulty motor.
•How do I know if the MCU is sending the correct voltage to the drain pump?
Use a multimeter set to AC voltage. Place the probes on the drain pump's electrical connector while the washer is in the drain cycle. You should read approximately 120V AC. If you don't see this voltage, the MCU might be faulty, or there could be a wiring issue.
