The part number is usually located on a sticker on the back of the touchscreen itself. You can also find it by searching online parts retailers using your oven's model number. Always verify the part matches before ordering.
Visually inspect the ribbon cable for any tears, kinks, or crimps. Use a magnifying glass to check for bent or broken connector pins. You can also use a multimeter to check for continuity between the pins.
If the voltage is low, check the breaker at the breaker panel. If the breaker is fine, there may be an issue with the wiring to the oven's outlet or a problem with the oven's internal power supply. Contact a qualified electrician to investigate the wiring and outlet. If the power supply board is bad, replace it.
The MCU is the oven's brain, responsible for controlling all functions. The touchscreen is the primary user interface. A 'Loading' loop usually indicates the MCU is unable to properly initialize the touchscreen, often due to corrupted software, insufficient power, or a hardware failure in either the touchscreen or the MCU's communication pathways.
Always disconnect power to the oven at the breaker panel (Lock Out/Tag Out procedure) before performing any repairs. High voltage is present inside the oven, and improper handling can result in electric shock. Wear appropriate safety glasses.
Avoid power surges by using a surge protector. Keep the oven clean to prevent debris from entering the control panel area. Do not use excessive force when using the touchscreen.
Try initiating the service mode. Sometimes, running the diagnostic tests in service mode can resolve the loading loop issue. To enter service mode on many GE Profile ovens, press and hold the 'Bake' and 'Broil' buttons simultaneously for 5-10 seconds. Then, navigate to the diagnostic tests.
