Frequently Asked Questions
•How do I test the temperature sensors with a multimeter?
Locate the temperature sensors (usually near the evaporator coils or within the compartments). Disconnect the sensor wires. Set your multimeter to measure resistance (Ohms). Place the multimeter probes on the sensor terminals. Compare the resistance reading to the manufacturer's specification sheet at a known temperature. If the resistance is significantly different, the sensor is likely faulty.
•Where are the condenser coils located on my Viking refrigerator?
On most Viking refrigerators, the condenser coils are located either at the back of the unit (exposed) or at the bottom, behind a kick plate. You may need a 1/4-inch nut driver or a 5/16-inch socket to remove the kick plate.
•What voltage should I expect at the outlet where the refrigerator is plugged in?
You should expect to see approximately 120V AC at the outlet. Use a multimeter to measure the voltage between the hot (black) and neutral (white) wires. If the voltage is significantly lower or higher, there may be an issue with your home's electrical system.
