Frequently Asked Questions
•How do I test the water inlet valve using a multimeter?
Disconnect the power to the washer. Disconnect the wires to the water inlet valve solenoid. Set your multimeter to the ohms setting (usually 2000 ohms or higher). Place one probe on each terminal of the solenoid. A reading between 1.3k and 1.8k ohms indicates a good solenoid. An open circuit (no reading) or a short circuit (very low reading) indicates a faulty solenoid.
•Where is the pressure switch located on my Roper washer?
The pressure switch is usually located on the top of the outer tub, near the back. It has a small hose connected to it that runs to the bottom of the tub. Access may require removing the top or front panel of the washer.
•How do I check for a siphon issue with the drain hose?
Ensure the drain hose is properly installed and is not pushed too far down the drain pipe. The drain hose should have an air gap to prevent siphoning. The top of the drain hose should be higher than the water level in the washer tub.
