Frequently Asked Questions
•What resistance should I expect when testing the motor windings?
Typically, you should see a low resistance (a few ohms) between the motor windings. An open circuit indicates a broken winding, while a short circuit indicates a winding fault.
•How do I properly tension a new drive belt?
The belt should have some give, but not be excessively loose. A good rule of thumb is to be able to deflect the belt about 1/2 inch in the middle of its longest span.
•Where is the MCU located in a GE front load washer?
The MCU is usually located inside the control panel at the top of the washer or sometimes near the base. You'll need to remove the control panel to access it.
