Frequently Asked Questions
•How do I test the water inlet valve with a multimeter?
Disconnect the power to the washer. Locate the water inlet valve, typically at the back of the machine where the water hoses connect. Disconnect the wires from the solenoid. Set your multimeter to the ohms setting (resistance). Place one probe on each terminal of the solenoid. A reading between 500 and 1500 ohms is usually considered normal. A reading of OL (open loop) indicates a faulty solenoid.
•Where is the water level pressure switch located?
The water level pressure switch is typically located inside the control panel or on the back panel of the washer. It's connected to the tub via a small rubber hose. You may need to remove the control panel or back panel to access it.
•What does LOTO mean, and why is it important?
LOTO stands for Lockout/Tagout. It's a safety procedure that involves disconnecting the power source (locking out the breaker) and attaching a tag to the breaker panel to indicate that the appliance is being serviced and should not be energized. This prevents accidental electrocution or injury.
