Frequently Asked Questions
•How do I properly tension the dryer belt?
The idler pulley is spring-loaded and automatically applies tension. The belt should deflect about 1/2 inch when pressed firmly between the pulleys.
•What happens if I install the belt backwards?
If the ribbed side isn't against the drum, it won't grip properly, and the drum will slip. This can damage the belt or motor.
•How do I check the motor pulley and idler pulley for damage?
Check for cracks, chips, or excessive wear on the pulley surfaces. The idler pulley should spin freely without any grinding noises. Replace the pulleys if you find any damage.
